As a Facilities Management Supervisor within our Facilities Management – Admin department, you’ll ensure the proper operation and maintenance of assigned facilities in accordance with all Federal, Provincial and Municipal codes and regulations. In this leadership role, you’ll also be accountable for the administration of the day-to-day activities and the supervision of all Housekeeping, Maintenance and Mechanical staff and services under your area of responsibility.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Facilities Management Supervisor, you’ll:

  • Control expenditures; requisition supplies, equipment and material; procure goods and services within approved authorization levels; process applicable invoicing; maintain Asset Management and effective inventory control measures. Maintain departmental interface and assist in the preparation of the departmental maintenance and operating budget.
  • Plan, organize, co-ordinate and supervise building repairs, office moves and minor renovation work to meet the needs of the Service; ensure work orders for services, repairs and maintenance work are received, recorded, prioritized and completed in a timely manner.
  • Develop, recommend and implement procedures to ensure assigned facilities’ areas are maintained in accordance with all applicable building codes, safety regulations and the Ontario Fire Code. Maintain Fire Prevention Management and WHMIS information, and ensure adherence to health and safety standards.
  • Perform regular building and equipment inspections and further monitor all buildings systems to ensure adherence to the most cost-effective operation, repair and replacement practices.
  • Supervise the daily and weekly activities of Housekeeping, Maintenance and Mechanical staff, providing for staff development and training, establishing performance standards, conducting performance evaluations and, with direct input into hiring decisions, taking responsibility for team results.
  • Plan, develop and implement preventative maintenance programs and schedule all essential equipment and building infrastructure.
  • Monitor the work performed by outside contractors and service providers to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and achievement of expected quality and workmanship.

QUALIFICATIONS

In the role of Supervisor – Facilities Management, you’ll leverage the following education, experience and skills:

  • A community college diploma in Property or Facilities Management or equivalent, plus additional specialized training in building maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a building operation and maintenance field within a commercial environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in financial management processes, including budgeting and invoicing.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of Federal, Provincial and Municipal codes and regulations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various building asset management and work order programs, and building automation systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in specification preparation and service contract administration.
  • Demonstrated supervisory/leadership, planning and organizational skills.
  • Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical, research and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid Driver’s Licence (Class G) with full driving privileges.

The salary range for this permanent, full-time position is $62,767 to $105,756 per annum and is complemented by a comprehensive benefit program, including employer-paid Health/Dental and Life Insurance after six (6) months; and the OMERS Pension Plan. Salary increases follow a step-based structure and will be completed on a yearly basis until the top of the range has been reached.
