Director of Real Estate

Acadian Timber Corp. (TSX:ADN) is a leading supplier of primary forest products in Eastern Canada and the Northeastern United States with approximately 2.4 million acres of land under management in New Brunswick and Maine. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, and in a newly created role, the Director of Real Estate will lead Acadian Timber’s Canadian and U.S real estate strategy.  


You will be responsible for sourcing, managing and finding creative ways to structure land acquisitions, disposals, and other land use agreements while developing and maintaining strong, professional relationships as a client facing representative of Acadian Timber. This role must leverage relationships across the organization and with its stakeholders, from external brokers, advisors and solicitors to developers, lawyers, purchasers and government.

You will lead the expansion and acceleration of Acadian Timber’s leasing program, future renewable projects, and complete scoping of shoreline allowance and timber deed acquisitions in Maine. 


Preference for this role is to be based in Fredericton, New Brunswick with travel to sites within New Brunswick and Maine.


As the Ideal Candidate you:


•    Have 7+ years of experience in real estate, leasing transactions, or land management as well as a post-secondary degree in business administration, finance, surveying, urban planning or a related field. 
•    Possess strong English written and oral communication skills. Bilingualism in English and French is considered an asset. 
•    Possess a strong understanding of commercial and residential land developments, with knowledge of regulatory requirements and environmental considerations related to land management or timber operations.
•    Are organized, entrepreneurial, autonomous and self-starting with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
•    Possess general knowledge of environmental issues, requirements, and remediation alternatives, as well as zoning, site planning, and related regulatory frameworks in New Brunswick or Maine.
