Head, Asset & Property Management – Civic Assets

Toronto, ON

An opportunity for a forward-looking real estate professional to provide the vision for the future of real estate asset management and interrelated partnerships for large-scale iconic real estate assets across the City of Toronto, including the country's largest ground transportation hub, Union Station.

As the Head of Asset and Property Management, you will create, develop and implement new strategies, techniques and approaches to asset management service delivery, operations and execution of the City’s key civic assets. Your focus will be on streamlining operations and repositioning real estate assets to reduce costs and increase both social and financial value, as well as align and deliver within the framework of the overall City-wide real estate strategy and mandate. Your strengths as a leader in engaging and motivating others to maximize their potential and commitment to achieve outstanding results will prove invaluable as you provide guidance on all asset management, property management and portfolio-related functions at Union Station and, as executive lead at the Station, manage key relationships with Metrolinx, VIA and Osmington.

This is a sizable mandate that will see you maximizing total return/value for Civic Assets by analyzing property efficiencies, profit and losses, and identifying opportunities for improved performance to optimize the asset in keeping with the City's strategic priorities and with key partner and/or tenant priorities. We will count on you to create and oversee customized asset management strategies and long-term financial planning for various Civic Assets, as well as oversee, manage and execute assigned Civic Assets strategic plans, including operating and capital budgets.

This exciting position will call into play the expertise of a proven transformational leader with extensive senior strategic, operational and transactional experience in managing core real estate assets from a portfolio, property and construction perspective, and the ability to build, develop and drive a strong customer service culture.

You are recognized as a skilled leader, communicator and relationship builder, adept at selling new concepts and approaches in the delivery of major initiatives, leading negotiations, and executing agreements with top officials from a variety of organizations. You have a track record demonstrating strong fiscal accountability and budget experience, combining solid analytical and strategic planning skills, and can operate as a fully accountable leader, juggle multiple priorities and time-sensitive matters, and successfully meet changing organizational, cultural and business needs. A post-secondary education in a related area and relevant management training and experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, are required. Industry affiliations would be considered an asset.

Salary range: $127,145.20 to $173,300.40 / year
